Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teaches children adaptive behaviors and reduces challenging behaviors by identifying the underlying causes and implementing strategies to promote positive change. This not only improves their behavior at home and in school but also enhances their overall well-being.
The skills learned through ABA therapy extend beyond the therapy sessions, improving the child’s ability to navigate daily life challenges and interact more effectively with peers and adults.
ABA Approach
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the leading therapy for children on the autism spectrum.
ABA helps children develop essential skills such as communication, social interaction, and self-care, which are crucial for their academic and personal growth. By breaking down complex skills into manageable steps, ABA makes learning more accessible and achievable.
ABA services involve the application of evidence-based behavioral strategies to improve specific skills and behaviors. These services may include assessment, intervention planning, data collection, and ongoing monitoring.
An initial assessment is conducted to identify target areas for intervention. A personalized behavior plan will be developed based on the assessment findings and will be tailored to meet your child’s specific needs and goals. Based on where your child excels and where they struggle, ABA uses positive reinforcement and individualized attention to help them learn new skills and replace problem behaviors with more productive ones.
This individualized approach ensures the therapy targets specific behaviors, making it highly effective in addressing a wide range of developmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and others. We believe promoting self-awareness, self-esteem and essential coping skills can prepare your child for a successful transition to a more typical structured classroom environment.

Parent Participation
The Connection Center at Royce encourages parental involvement, equipping parents with the tools and knowledge to support their child’s progress outside of therapy sessions. This collaborative approach fosters a supportive environment for the child’s development.
Active participation in the intervention process is important for its success. Parents are informed about progress, goals, and strategies – and will collaborate with the ABA team to support their child’s development.
